Creator Spotlight: Samantha Schnur aka @thenaughtyfork

Samantha Schnur is the creative force behind @thenaughtyfork her content will make you hungry if not starving and drives tremendous engagement, probably making it one of the most effective forms of restaurant marketing.

This Miami native has lived here her entire life and is proud to call Miami her home. She started actively creating content 3 years ago and has already achieved a massive following.

When you have friends visiting Miami where do you like to take them?

This depends if its an activity or restaurant. But I love to take them to Soho House so they can see the beach but also enjoy the food/drinks.

What are some of your favorite local restaurants you have worked with?

I love Tanuki, Pincho Factory, Mrs.Cheezious, 1800 Lucky, Prime 112.

How can local businesses gain more exposure on social media?

Post good quality pictures, engage with your customers, host giveaways.

Any tips on having better engagement with their followers?

Responding to DMs, comments, and story replies are best. I also love asking them questions (polls) to see what they really want/are interested in.

As a content creator, what do you find to be your biggest challenge?

Finding the balance between what you’d like to post and what your followers want to see.

Who has been your biggest inspiration?

My dad has always been the person I look up to. It’s his hard work that makes me want to get up early in the morning and start working.

What do you consider your strongest skill?

Probably knowing what my followers want to see. There always has to be a give and take between posting stuff I like and stuff I know they’ll like, but I have a pretty good idea of what they want. I also think I’m a pretty decent photographer 🙂

Any books that had a major impact on your life?

I hate to admit this, but I’m not a book-reader. I have read a bunch of great books, but they were all mysteries and fictional stories (nothing that really changed my life).

What equipment do you use?

Canon 6D with a 50mm lens and a 24-107mm lens. I also have a 100mm macro from some crazy close up shots.

What are your top 5 apps?

  • VSCO
  • UBEREATS (lol)

Anything else you are currently working on that you would like to share?

I can’t share too much right now, but I’m currently working on an App! It should be out in the App Store soon and will make it easier for people to see where I like to eat/what I recommend for certain occasions.
