Bodega Norton, one of the most celebrated Argentinian wineries, just celebrated their partnership with internationally acclaimed pop artist Romero Britto.

The Bodega Norton Limited Edition Barrel Select Art Series by Romero Britto features exclusive signature Britto designs on two varietals of Norton’s Barrel Select wine, including Malbec and Sauvignon Blanc.  Both retail for $16 per bottle. The alliance between the winery and renowned artist was celebrated last night at the official launch party in Miami Beach at Britto’s Lincoln Road art gallery.

Brazilian-born and Miami-made, Romero Britto is an international artist that uses vibrant, bold and colorful patterns to reflect his optimistic view of the world around him. Britto has created a visual language of hope and happiness all its own that is relatable to all, inspiring millions.

Michael Halstrick & Romero Britto

Bodega Norton’s CEO, Michael Halstrick, a devoted fan of contemporary art, approached Britto with the idea for a partnership, the first of its kind for the winery. “Britto’s work has always appealed to me, particularly because it is so cheerful, vibrant and versatile,” says Halstrick.  “We want our wines to have that same impact on people. The same way Britto is so passionate about art, Norton shares a similar passion for winemaking. We want to bring the same joy that his art exudes to as many people as possible through our wines.”

For Britto, the decision to collaborate with Bodega Norton was a no-brainer: “I’ve always enjoyed wine, especially red wine, and to work with Norton, one of the best wineries from Argentina, has been amazing. I am very proud and very happy to have my label on their bottle.”  When describing the Malbec, Britto describes it as “very smooth. The body has a lot of curves…spectacular, unique, delicious and very special.

For the partnership, Norton chose to highlight Barrel Select, a perfectly balanced wine between fruit and oak, as part of the wine is aged in French oak barrels while the other is aged in steel tanks. This delicate balance is pleasing to the palates of a broad range of consumers who find the fruity aromas combine harmoniously with the toasted notes of the oak; the latter providing the perfect amount of complexity and structure. These same pleasing attributes are reflected in the collaboration with Britto, as he too successfully achieves a balance between what the artist hopes to reflect and what the consumer appreciates, looking for his art to be shared and enjoyed by everyone.

Made from the grapes of old vines, the varietals of the Limited Edition Barrel Select Art Series by Romero Britto convey warmth, optimism, passion and love, just like the artist’s designs that embellish them.  The Malbec is a deep red color with violet hues and aromas of ripe red fruits, cassis and pepper. The taste is sweet with friendly tannins and spicy flavors. The Sauvignon Blanc is a greenish yellow color with golden hues. Aromas are of green apples and tropical fruit while a complexity to flavor is due to notes of vanilla, coconut, and a hint of oak.

The Limited Edition Barrel Select Art Series by Romero Britto is the result of two passions — wine and art — and the desire to share them together with others.
