Tell us a little about yourself and your company. Give us the elevator pitch.

I am a 29 year old single mom, yoga instructor, holistic massage therapist and a small business owner. I moved from Brooklyn, NY and opened Inhale Miami in Little Haiti/Little River last September in order to share what has helped me become a more balanced and content human being. Inhale Miami works with hundreds of different holistic healthcare professionals and we host multiple classes and events on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

All of the classes focus on lifestyle tools to live healthier and happier lives through yoga, meditation, music, art and community.

What has been the most challenging moment in your career?

It’s hard to think of one specific moment. Just like there are moments of pure joy and ecstasy when I see people dancing or breathing deeply in the space, making friends and connections, there are also many moments of fear and doubt within the ebb and flow of running a small business.

The challenging moments are what keeps me going and they encourage me to work smarter not harder to give myself and the community what we need.

If I were to have to choose just one moment, it was a few months after I opened when I realized that in order to keep the business running in integrity, I had to make personal lifestyle changes to support the business.

What was the most braggable moment in your life?

If I could change “braggable moment” to “proudest moment”, I would definitely say that birthing a 9 1/2 pound beautiful baby boy in the comfort of my home is my all time proudest moment. There’s something about creating a human that makes you realize how strong of a creature you are. And how the little things don’t matter as much.

What would you say is your biggest weakness?

My mind is my biggest weakness. It controls old habits and unhealthy patterns. It controls fear and doubt. It allows me to trick myself into sometimes thinking things are not okay when really everything is perfect.

And your greatest strength?

My greatest strength is my willpower. The desire to succeed and carry out a dream. The drive to wake up, set goals and achieve them. My willpower, ambition and general stubbornness has been my greatest strength toward accomplishing my goals. The goal of helping myself and others feel healthy and happy.

What was the greatest lesson you’ve learned from a mistake?

I’ve learned a huge lesson this year in creating boundaries. Working in the wellness industry means you have to feel balanced and well. I have made the mistake of working too many hours and not disconnecting when it’s time for a break. It is extremely important to rest and rejuvenate so I can be healthy for my family and customers.

How do you define happiness?

Happiness is being satisfied with what you have.

What book are you currently reading?

The untethered soul, the journey beyond yourself by Michael A. Singer – my dentist gave me this book and it’s life changing! What’s a personal habit that you believe contributes to your success? Sleep.

I used to hate going to sleep and always wanted to stay up late and enjoy being alive and awake. As I get older, time becomes more valuable and I have begun to see how greatly sleep benefits the quality of my work.

Have you collaborated with another business in the past? (if yes tell us how it benefited you, if no tell us how you would like to)

I am constantly collaborating with other businesses. Most of Inhale is based on collaborations whether it’s with other teachers, musicians, vendors and non-profit organizations. Community amongst businesses is essential. We need each other to survive and it always benefits both parties involved because business is founded on relationships.
