The Standard Residences: Carlos Rosso’s Game-Changing Project in Midtown

Carlos Rosso is the mastermind behind The Standard Residences coming to Midtown Miami. The highly-anticipated project, which he launched in December 2021, is the first-ever branded residences for The Standard, a hotel brand known for its authenticity, coolness, and pretentiousness.

Born in Argentina and with a background in real estate finance, Carlos Rosso has over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry. He began his career at Related Group, where he worked his way up to becoming the president of the condominium division working alongside Jorge Perez who became his mentor. Eventually, he decided to branch out and launch his own development company, Rosso Development.

The Standard Residences, Midtown Miami is a pied-a-terre concept, featuring studio, one, and two-bedroom units that can be rented for as few as 30 days. This allows for flexible living while maintaining exclusivity. The project is located in the dynamic neighborhood of Midtown, between the Design District and Wynwood, and is set to be completed in 2024.

The partnership between Rosso Development and The Standard came about through a long-standing relationship between Rosso and Amar Lalvani, the CEO of Standard International. “I’ve known Amar for almost 20 years and I’ve always been a fan of The Standard brand,” says Rosso. “For my first project on my own at Rosso Development, I wanted to build something with soul and rooted in community, unlike anything Miami has seen before in the residential space.”

The building will feature architecture by Arquitectonica, interior design by Urban Robot and landscaping by Naturaficial.

70% of the units at The Standard Residences have already been sold, with pricing ranging from $491,900 to $1.1 million. The project has attracted a diverse group of buyers, both domestic and international, many of whom are purchasing as a pied-a-terre. Additionally, a significant number of buyers are fans of The Standard brand, choosing to purchase a residence so they never have to “check out.” NBA star Hassan Whiteside is also among the buyers.
