Ian Hurdle grew up in South England before moving to Grand Cayman in 1993. Turks and Caicos has been home since 1998. He love Turks and Caicos for the people and its accessibility.
Ian began his career in real estate in 2011. He worked in property management and was referring his clients to realtors, but found them often being disappointed with the service they were receiving, he knew he can do a better job and this inspired him to become a real estate broker.
He currently works at The Agency Turks and Caicos and specializes in the Long Bay Beach, Leeward, and Babalua Beach areas.
What Do You Believe Is Your Biggest Strength As An Entrepreneur?
My ability to grind. I don’t get high with the highs or low with the lows. I stay consistent in my beliefs and processes.
What Is A Personal Habit That Contributes The Most To Your Success?
I’m a dog with a bone. I chase down every lead no matter how unlikely it may seem that a deal will come out of it. Many times I have been accused of wasting my time on a list cause and I end up proving people wrong. I’m a creative thinker so my problem solving salvages a lot of deals or opportunities that would appear dead.
What Is An App Or Tool That You Could Not Live Without?
I have found huge success by focusing on just one – Instagram. I generate new leads daily off the back of my stories specifically, resulting in many sales. At this point, it is the lifeblood of my business and success.
Who Has Been Your Biggest Inspiration?
Mauricio Umansky. The nicest guy, so humble and easy to talk to. Given his position in the industry, he could be forgiven for being less giving with his time and thoughts. Always so generous in sharing ideas and feedback.
What Is The Biggest Lesson You Learned From A Mistake?
I lost a major commission because I trusted an attorney to be ethical. That won’t happen again!
