There’s definitely no shortage of beauty in Miami, and successful Miami photographer and makeup artist Chantal Pichardo @chp.x is the woman behind the lens capturing it. Chantal shares with us more about who she is, what she loves about Miami, and how budding content creators can make the most of their social media.

How long have you been actively creating content?

I’ve always been creating content, but I have around years creating content nonstop without any breaks. I started as a digital artist, then I got into makeup and now I’m more focused on my photography and modeling.

Are you originally from Miami? If not, whereabouts?

I’m originally from Nicaragua. I moved to Miami 3 years ago. I love this city.

Out of all the places in Miami, where is your fav to hang out?

South Beach! I love going to the beach, the weather is always great and there’s a lot of things to do!

What are some of your favorite local brands/businesses that you worked with?

I’ve worked mostly with fashion designers and brands from other countries but haven’t had the chance to work with a local business yet. I would love to though!

How can local businesses gain more exposure on social media?

I think being interactive with your followers can help you a lot. It helps you to know what they want to see from you/their interests. Also, collaborating with different people/brands and staying active as much as you can will help grow your audience really fast.

Tell us your biggest challenge as a Miami photographer?

Being original and trying to do something that’s different is harder nowadays. Everything is already done, so you really must twist it and find a way to make it your own.

How can other content creators better engage with their audience?

Staying active by sharing stories about what you’re doing throughout the day. Posting pictures/videos and being interactive with your followers will help you engage your audience. I truly believe that posting what makes you happy and not trying to follow what others are doing, will let your audience see the real and will make them feel more connected/closer to you!

Who is your biggest inspiration?

I don’t have one person who’s my biggest inspiration. I get inspired everyday by different people. From normal people I see everyday to amazing artists that I consider legends.

Now, tell us your strongest skill?

I consider myself a creative person. It definitely takes a creative person to be a content creator.

Are there any photographers that have inspired you?

Many photographers inspire my work! But I’d have to say that my top two are Mario Testino and Peter Lindbergh. Their work is so different but really breathtaking!

Name some of your fav makeup trends, either all-time ones or ones that are popular right now.

I feel that dewy skin always looks beautiful and is always on-trend. It makes the skin look healthy and glowy! Also, you don’t need much to achieve this look, which is one of the things I love about it!

What equipment do you use?

I often use my Canon and my Digibee 800.
