The Aston Martin Residences Art Gallery proudly introduces “Interspecies,” an immersive exhibition by Save The Chimps, setting a new precedent in Miami’s art scene. Save The Chimps, nestled in Fort Pierce, Florida, stands as a beacon of compassion, providing sanctuary and exemplary care for chimpanzees retired from research laboratories, the pet trade, and the entertainment industry. In an unprecedented move, the sanctuary joins forces with iconic band members Kate Pierson, Fred Schneider, and Cindy Wilson of The B-52s, fostering an artistic collaboration that transcends species boundaries.

The heart of the exhibition lies in a captivating collection of acrylic-on-canvas paintings, where chimps from the 150-acre refuge, guided by B-52s band members, infuse vibrant hues reminiscent of the band’s legendary album covers. Each stroke on canvas bears the essence of collaboration, echoing the harmony between human creativity and the innate artistry of chimpanzees. Named after B-52s songs or lyrics, each masterpiece is a testament to the power of creativity and compassion.

Moreover, the exhibition features original prints from Karen Bystedt’s ‘Lost Warhols’ series, inviting a dialogue between contemporary art and the timeless allure of Andy Warhol’s legacy. Chimpanzee artists lend their touch to these prints, echoing Warhol’s iconic method of embellishing celebrity portraits with vibrant colors.

In a nod to Aston Martin’s legacy of sophistication and innovation, the exhibition also showcases paintings with chrome backgrounds, adorned with colorful brushstrokes by ape artists, each paying homage to classic Aston Martin models. This amalgamation of automotive heritage and artistic expression adds a unique dimension to the exhibition, bridging the realms of luxury and creativity.
