Brooke Kettering is the Founder of Yeehaww; yoga experiences, excursions and hiking adventures world wide.

How  did you get started?

I started Yeehaww because I took a trip to Colombia and ended up sort of recruiting a couple friends to do this 4 day hike with me. I realized that I could integrate all my education and skills to do things I love (travel, hike, practice yoga, and connect deeply with others).

What has been the most challenging moment in your career?

My primary career is as a therapist (working toward my license as an MFT). The most challenging (and rewarding) aspect of that career is working through the personal material that surfaces when you’re engaged in the therapeutic process.

What was the most braggable moment?

Another aspect of my adult work life was producing yoga/music festivals. We had three very successful events in San Diego, called V Elements Festival.

What would you say is your biggest weakness?

My biggest weakness is fear around following my dreams!

And your greatest strength?

My greatest strength is my compassion for all creatures.

What was the greatest lesson you’ve learned from a mistake?

Greatest lesson…we create our reality. So you can make it as wonderful or miserable as you allow yourself to.

What do you love most about what you do?

I love that I do so many different things! I love helping people find answers they seek within themselves.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

The only thing constant is change.

How do you define happiness?

Happiness is contentment. Being alright with the good and the bad. Knowing that everything passes. Nothing is permanent.

What book are you currently reading?

Currently reading several. But mainly Tattoos on the Heart by Gregory Boyle.

What’s a personal habit that you believe contributes to your success?

Personal habit-self care! Through yoga and hiking mostly.

Have you collaborated with another business/artist in the past? (if yes tell us how it benefited you, if no tell us how you would like to)

Yes! Many collaborations! Everything wonderful is a co-creation. I produce a music event at the yoga studio I teach at, called Sweet Sundays, with the owner Melanie Freeman. We’re a good team and support each other well.

Join Brooke as she co-lead’s a retreat with Mundo Adventures to Minca, Colombia May 2-8, 2017. You’ll go to the mountains that the Kogi refer to as the center of the universe. There, you’ll practice yoga and meditation daily, hike to various parts of the quaint, remote mountain town that is Minca, located in the Sierra Nevadas of Santa Marta. You’ll participate in a ceremony with the local indigenous people, the Kogi. You’ll eat healthy, organic meals, swim in waterfalls, explore Tayrona National Park, practice holotropic breathwork, among other things!
