Lacey Evans @laceyjadeevans is a model, content creator, and fashionista whose Instagram page will have you craving a life on the beach. From incredible photos to inspirational style, she’s definitely one to follow. We caught up with Lacey to learn more about the woman behind the Insta feed and her influencer marketing tips.

How long have you been actively creating content?

The thought of being an influencer on Instagram and creating content came to me at 15 years old! I was so inspired by all the fashion bloggers and Instagram models that I wanted to be one myself.

Where are you originally from?

I’m originally a lil’ southern girl from Sweet Home Alabama! During high school breaks, my mom and I often traveled to Miami to make connections, visit my agency (DAS), meet people, and create some beachy content! Although it looks like I live there, I actually moved to Los Angeles about 7 months ago! I moved to LA to attend the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and couldn’t be happier!

What is your favorite place in Miami to take friends that are visiting?

My favorite place to take my visiting friends is definitely the heart of South Beach. There are many things to do, see, and eat!

What are some of your favorite local brands/businesses that you worked with?

Some of my favorite and accommodating brands that I have worked with is a jewelry company called The M Jewelers, a shoe company called Koio, a sweat company called Aviator Nation, and a brand called Princess Poppy Boutique!

How can local businesses gain more exposure on social media?

Local businesses can reach out to influencers to post and tag their company in exchange for gifted items to that influencer!

Tell us your biggest challenge as a content creator?

My biggest challenge as an influencer is to overcome Instagram’s constant change in algorithms, which is what allows your followers to see your posts. A change in the algorithm can make it difficult for your post to be shown in the feed of your followers

How can a content creator better engage with their audience?

To boost a following and engagement, I suggest that creators engage back with their followers! This means commenting back, liking comments, returning the favor and comment on their photos!

Who has been your biggest inspiration?

My biggest inspiration on Instagram was definitely when Jay Alvarez and Alexis Ren were a power couple.

How about your strongest skill?

I would say my strongest skill would be sticking to a colored theme for my Insta page. I really like the white and blue beachy theme!

What is your favorite book?

My all-time favorite book was the Count of Monte Cristo! I’m really into mystery/action books because I like to be on the edge of my seat throughout the story.

What equipment do you use?

Honestly, the thing that I use most for my photos is my iPhone! Although I do have a Sony A6500 that takes amazing photos, I would just rather whip out my phone and take a more natural shot.

Top 5 apps

My top 5 favorite apps right now are Instagram, of course. Priv, which is an app where you can schedule hair, nails, spa, or makeup appointment to come to your house (super nice and convenient). Lightroom is another essential app because that’s what I use to edit my photos, like any other content creator. Also, Spotify is a MUST so I can have my jams wherever I go. Last but not least is my bird app! It’s super fun and cheap way to get me from point A to B!

What are you currently working on?

My boyfriend @will_allam_ and I are currently working on traveling together and creating content that is an inspiration and a happy feel to our followers! We are going to be traveling with @gopirve travel agency to Ibiza in May to play with exotic animals, so tune in and follow us on our journey of life!
